Emotional Wellness
Separation is the loss of an important relationship. And it probably isn't what you had planned for your life. As a result, you may be feeling many different emotions.
Strong emotions are natural. Your feelings may vary from anger, fear, jealously, anxiety, sadness, uncertainty, guilt, shame and loneliness to relief, excitement, hope and even happiness. You may find that you swing from one emotion to another or, you may feel some emotions longer and stronger than others.
We can provide a safe supportive space to process these emotions, gain positive coping strategies, build hope for the future, and settle in a place of emotional wellness and strength.

Supporting your Children
As you separate or divorce, one of your main concerns will be your children. You may be asking yourself, "Will my kids be O.K.?"
Just like you, your children may be grieving the loss of their family as they knew it. Because young children often don't have the language skills or experience to explain what they're feeling, they may show their grief through their behaviour.
We can help you find the ways to recognize and understand your children's reactions and needs following a separation so you can support them, help them to adjust to the changes in their lives, and build a resiliency they will carry forward with them into the future.

Navigating the System
When a relationship ends there are often many significant practical issues that need to be resolved. Where will you live? How will you separate your finances? What about the house? What about the children? These issues can be complicated by conflict or communication problems.
Maybe your ex partner has gotten a lawyer, or made a court application an you're feeling confused and overwhelmed. Perhaps you're getting conflicting information and advice from different friends and family and don't know which way to turn.
We can provide discussion, support and practical information and resources to help you plan your next steps.
